Our Story
A Partnership Rooted in Faith and Innovation
Pastors Johnnie and Lataya Simpson's love story began behind the scenes at Windsor Village United Methodist Church in Houston, where both served in the media production ministry "Envisioned Sound." Johnnie worked in audio production while Lataya served in video production. Their shared passion for using technology to enhance worship and spread the Gospel created an instant connection.
What started as a ministry partnership blossomed into romance, and on July 5, 2009, they were married. Their relationship has always been grounded in their mutual love for Christ and their innovative approach to ministry. Later, both pursued their Master of Divinity degrees at Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University, further deepening their theological foundations and commitment to pastoral ministry.
Today, they serve as senior pastors in the Houston area, raise three children, and continue to pioneer innovative approaches to ministry. Their unique combination of pastoral care, technological expertise, and community engagement makes them sought-after speakers and coaches across denominational lines.
As a clergy couple, they understand the unique challenges and blessings of ministry life. They bring authentic insight to conversations about marriage, family, leadership, and the intersection of faith with public service.
